Aaron's Acres

Proceeds from the 2009 and 2010 Fall Blast will be donated toAaron's Acres, a non-profit organization that serves children between the ages of 5 and 21 with special needs. Aaron's Acres provides programs to over 200 families in Lancaster, Berks and Dauphin Counties. Their programs focus on socialization and communication by providing therapeutically based recreational activities. Offering programs both during the school year and over the summer, Aaron's Acres provides a welcoming atmosphere for ALL children, regarding of their disabilities. for more information, visit www.aaronsacres.org

Lancaster Science Factory

Proceeds from the 2007 and 2008 Fall Blast will be donated to the newly created Lancaster Science Factory, which is located on New Holland Avenue in Lancaster. Specifically, the proceeds will sponsor a permanent exhibit at the Science Factory called "Break the Dam". The Lancaster Science Factory is a hands-on, interactive technology and science center in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, offering dozens of exciting exhibits relating to the physical sciences, engineering, technology and mathematics. Volley for Kids

This Spring, HARTZ Physical Therapy sponsored a team of staff members to participate in the 2010 Volley for Kids, which raises money to support Aaron's Acres, a respite care facility for children with special needs. In addition, proceeds from the 2009 and 2010 Fall Blast will go directly to Aaron's Acres.

Adopt-a-Highway

The staff of HARTZ Physical Therapy sponsors a two mile stretch of Brubaker Valley Road in Lititz with the Adopt-a-Highway program. The staff periodically picks up trash along this stretch of road in Lititz, which helps to keep our community clean and environmentally friendly.

Water Street Rescue Mission

Each year the staff of HARTZ Physical Therapy goes to the Water Street Rescue Mission to serve meals to Lancaster's underprivileged.

Project for the Needy

This past holiday season the staff of HARTZ Physical Therapy volunteered on Christmas Eve to box meals for the homeless of Lancaster. More than 1,000 boxes full of ingredients needed to make a complete holiday dinner were handed out at Clipper Magazine Stadium in little more than an hour.

GoRed for Women's Health

On the first Friday of February each year, the staff of HARTZ Physical Therapy wears red to work and donates money in support of Women's Health. The staff contribution, which goes to the American Heart Association, is matched by HARTZ Physical Therapy. For more information, visit www.goredforwomen.org.

Lititz 150th Anniversary Parade

In September, 2006, the staff of HARTZ Physical Therapy participated in the parade to mark the 250th Anniversary of Lititz. With the help of a local artist, the staff built a float which was dedicated to the theme of the Fall Blast, including larger than life leaves and greenery of all kinds. Names of Fall Blast sponsors were painted on each leaf to thank them for their dedication to the cause. In addition, the staff dressed in period costumes on the parade route to commemorate the period during which Lititz was founded.

Community Runs/Walks

As a provider in the local medical community, Brian Hartz firmly believes in staying healthy through exercise and encourages his staff to do the same. As a result, many members of the HARTZ Physical Therapy staff routinely participate in local runs and walks which raise money for charity. Participation is sponsored by HARTZ Physical Therapy, allowing employees to bond outside of work and stay in shape at the same time.

Assistive-Device Drive

HARTZ Physical Therapy has organized an "Assistive-Device Drive" which gives free assistive devices, such as wheelchairs, walkers and canes to the local community, free of charge. In addition, interested persons can have their current wheelchairs or walkers adjusted or repaired with spare parts, free of charge. HARTZ PT Cookbook

In December, 2005, the staff of HARTZ Physical Therapy created a cookbook of some of their favorite recipes and sold copies to family, friends and patients. All proceeds benefited the Pennsylvania Food Bank.

United Disability Services

HARTZ Physical Therapy has supported the United Disability Services by participating in Aaron Acres Volley for Kids event in the past. In addition, this past holiday season, the staff of HARTZ Physical Therapy volunteered at the gift wrapping center in Park City Mall which also raised money for the United Disability Services.
